Grit· Privacy
Your data is yours.
Grit does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Full stop.
What Grit stores
Grit saves your preferences — session durations, colour theme choices, and notification settings — locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.
What Grit does not do
- Grit does not collect analytics or usage data.
- Grit does not use any third-party SDKs, trackers, or advertising frameworks.
- Grit does not require an account or sign-in.
- Grit does not connect to the internet for any reason.
- Grit does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or any other system resource beyond notifications (which you can decline).
Notifications
Grit requests permission to send local notifications when a work or break session ends. These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No data is sent to any server. You can deny or revoke notification permission at any time in System Settings.
Children's privacy
Grit does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here. Given that Grit collects no data, changes are unlikely.
