Shim· Privacy
Your data is yours.
Shim does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Full stop.
What Shim stores
Shim saves your preferences — keyboard shortcut, grid dimensions — locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.
What Shim does not do
- Shim does not collect analytics or usage data.
- Shim does not use any third-party SDKs, trackers, or advertising frameworks.
- Shim does not require an account or sign-in.
- Shim does not connect to the internet for any reason.
- Shim does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or files.
Accessibility permission
Shim requires macOS Accessibility permission to move and resize other applications' windows. This is a standard macOS system permission — Shim uses it solely to position windows where you tell it to. No window content is read, recorded, or transmitted.
You can revoke this permission at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
Children's privacy
Shim does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here. Given that Shim collects no data, changes are unlikely.
